THE HIGHER SCHOOL OF PEDAGOGY OF THE SOCIETY OF PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE IN WARSAW

The Higher School of Pedagogy of the Society of Public Knowledge in Warsaw established in 1993 by decision of the Minister of National Education issued on April 20th, 1993, is one of the oldest non-public humanities schools in Poland. We run courses in 7 cities: Warsaw (Faculty of Social Science), Katowice (Faculty of Social Science and Pedagogy), Walbrzych (Branch Faculty), Lublin (Branch Faculty), Olsztyn (Faculty of Humanities and Social Science), Czluchow (Branch Faculty) and Szczecin (Branch Faculty).
       The University offers education in five curricula (Education, Sociology, Political Science, English Philology and Social Work). Our University is licensed to run bachelor and master degree curricula. In addition to the curricular offer there are postgraduate studies in 12 attractive fields as well as numerous open trainings and workshops organised and co-financed under European Union programmes. 
       Major areas of the University’s expertise revolve around the European social policy issues, active social work, education and social economy.
       The University Authorities make every effort to diversify and rationalise education process by introduction of new information and communication technologies. Alongside the traditional modes of education there are also classes applying the methods and techniques of long-distance learning. Students of the University have an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and qualifications regardless of the distance and location.
One of major advantages of the University is the academic faculty consisting of over 600 highly qualified teachers and researchers. Thanks to collaboration with numerous education institutions at home and abroad the University offers its students education congruent with the highest European standards. Under projects of modernising curricula University’s teachers promote academic entrepreneurship and implement innovative methods of teaching such as tutoring, coaching, and mentoring.
   The University offers the excellent creative and intellectual development opportunities, for both the academics and students. The University has a well equipped library as well as own publishing house focused on publication of didactic and scientific books. Thanks to academic and didactic initiatives such as conferences, training, workshops, and open-meetings, the University offers constant intellectual development and broadening horizons opportunities.
The success of the University is confirmed by excellent labour market performance of great majority of its alumni. High position in ratings as well as education reports confirm well grounded position of the University as an important, inspiring education centre.
